Diet Cig TicketsDiet Cig TourDiet Cig is an American indie pop/punk duo that formed in September of 2014. Diet Cig features petite dynamo Alex Luciano on guitar and vocals and Noah Bowman on drums. The pair started hanging out when Alex was a sophomore in college – she came to a local hangout to hear Noah’s band play – which quickly led to playing music together.

This two-piece band puts on a dynamic show. With Luciano’s stark naivety as the front person and lead guitarist, honest, catchy lyrics and a punk-house vibe, Diet Cig does not disappoint. Diet Cig is currently touring North America and appearing in festivals and smaller shows across the nation. Check StubHub for Diet Cig concerts near you. 

About Diet CigThe duo met each other the summer of 2014 at a house show in New Paltz, a town located in upstate New York. They met when Alex Luciano interrupted Noah Bowman’s current band’s set by asking him for a lighter. He responded by giving her a bottle of wine. She later got his number after convinced him that she could make him a music video.

Alex Luciano had not previously performed in bands or even played an electric guitar. She played a few acoustic songs for Noah Bowman, and he suggested she try it out on the electric guitar. With Bowman on drums, Diet Cig found their sound and nearly overnight became a successful band.

They wrote their first EP in 2014 and named it Over Easy after a special at The Main St Bistro, a place they frequented. Diet Cig recorded the album in one night on Halloween of 2014 at Salvation Recording Company. It debuted in February 2015. The EP features songs where Luciano reminisces about her youth and the music scene in New Paltz. Over Easy features five songs- “Breathless,” “Pool Boyz,” “Scene Sick,” “Cardboard,” and “Harvard.”

Diet Cig released their second EP, Sleep Talk/Dinner Date 7, on Father/Daughter Records. Just like their first EP, Sleep Talk/Dinner Date 7 was recorded by Chris Daly at Salvation Recording Company in the duo’s hometown of New Paltz.
